Written in 1991, in a time when the Associated Press was the best source for breaking news and office memorandums were the most efficient way to communicate, this thought-provoking novel, in documentary fashion and an alarming prophetic manner, illustrates how easily a simple mistake can be misrepresented. When high school freshman, Phillip, clashes with his English teacher, his actions result in a two day suspension, and what follows can only be described as a media sh#tstorm that has long-reaching consequences for everyone involved.

This story is more important and relevant than ever, and shows the value of learning both sides of the story in this time of truly instant access to information, fake news, and media frenzy.

Also Avi definitely has a "drop the mic" moment with the last line of the book.
