while i never read frankenstein, i still found this book to be intriguing and a unique spin on an old classic.
the first half of the book was a little too slow for my liking and could have been condensed. while it was a slow burn, i felt like it was filled with too many unnecessary details. some of the science elements went over my head and only added to the confusing details.
i also wish that it could have been gayer. this was labeled as a queer/lgbtq+ book, however, there were only subtle mentions which i don’t think warrants the label.
i wish we found out the fate of the creature but i understand why we didn’t. i also don’t know who i hate more - finley clark (for obvious reasons) or henry for never supporting or defending his wife. what a weak loser
overall, this was a unique read that i enjoyed.
