The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlein
3.0

I had very high expectations for this novel; it was on my "to read" list for years and I held the premise of a moon rebellion in awe. Unfortunately, it was somewhat disappointing, and this is why:
- The "moonish" language got on my nerves
- Women are a prized possession in this universe. Wyo was a boring character with nothing to offer. She was more of a trophy rather than a strong female presence.
- Polygamy is an alien concept to me and goes against my human nature. I understand that it's practised in a quarter of today's societies, but that doesn't mean it's easier for me to embrace

There are better sci-fi/alternative future novels out there. Amongst them is Heinlein's very own Starship Troopers. I enjoyed it much more.

Summary: 2.75 stars out of 5
