The book wasn't perfect by any means; some parts felt a bit redundant. However, though I normally don't read romance, I was drawn to the plot and especially the characters. I do not participate in any fanfiction communities nor do I read them, but given the way the fanfic sections were written, I was immediately intrigued! The characters feature a male protagonist has dyslexia and a female protagonist, is proudly fat and intelligent and has a career that brings her great joy. Displaying accurate portrayals of disabilities and strong, intelligent women who happen to be fat and demonstrating that these people are capable of being loved is such a rarity and for those reasons, I immensely enjoyed reading this book.
