I had a really great time with Book 2 in the Nyxia Triad. Was it as good as the first well no..., but was it really an entirely different experience yes so overall it was a good read. I appreciate that we pick up from literally the minute that we left off. There is no time jump or even a small gap, which really keeps the pacing and story consistency alive.
Really all in all if the first book plays out the events of a year in space than book 2 is like their teams first 3 weeks on planet which makes the pacing great.
I found the first book to be more narratively engaging though. This book is worldbuilding/set up for the final book which while fun is not as interesting as book once since some of the events are so obviously set up for later.
Overall a good time though.
