Words in Deep Blue by Cath Crowley

3.5/4 stars

The overall vibe is a mash up of The Fault in our Stars and Gilmore Girls. In Australia. Very YA.

Too much profanity and sometimes predictable. I thought the book references would annoy me, but it actually wasn't too bad, even though I hadn't read most of the books. I especially liked the T.S. Eliot shout out. Honestly, this rating should probably be just 3 stars, but I'm giving it extra because I just liked it! And that counts for something in my reviews.

Contains oodles of profanity, allusions to death, grief, depression, (non-sexual) nudity, bullying, and a charming but insolvent bookshop with of course the aforementioned gratuitous, but obligatory, book references.
