The Heiress's Deception by Christi Caldwell
3.0
This feels like a complete and utter fairytale. The 'noble' former pickpocket Calum is now a co-owner of a gaming hell, but things aren't going well since half the owners of the club has married into aristocracy, amazingly, this somehow impacts their club.
Lady Eve Pruitt is trying to save her inheritance from the clutches of her evil brother, who happens to be the bastard who almost killed Calum when he was a pickpocket. When trying to save herself from an unwanted marriage, she masquerades as the new bookkeeper for the club. inevitably, the two protagonist meet and a love story happens.
The story is cliched beyond belief and frankly quite improbable. The protagonist side are too noble, those wonderful gaming hell owners and the antagonists, the majority of the aristocracy are the bad guys. If you've read the first book, the story is extremely similar.
Well-written, but ultimately extremely predictable. My recommendation if it's on Kindle Unlimited, it's a quick read, but definitely not worth buying
