3.5⭐️ if I could give 1/2 stars on here.
You can tell that this author is highly influenced by Sara J Maas and mythology. There are a lot of similarities, and a lot of crossover. It didn’t bother me too much because it was a different story and the characters weren’t 100% the same. I can understand why it bothers some people, but it wasn’t a big deal to me. Every author has influences.
What I did mine was the use of metaphor. It was everywhere and constant within this book.
Overall, I enjoyed her style of writing. I thought that the world was descriptive, the characters were intriguing, and the plot was fun.
I did see the twist coming, but the way that it happened and the story behind it wasn’t what I expected. I would have really liked to see a lot more character development outside of the main female character, but that is what the follow up books are for. I am looking forward to reading Nightbane.
