Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
Did not finish book.
“Hello.
I hope somebody is listening.”
Radio Silence is about Frances whose ultimate goal is to get into Cambridge, then she uncovers the identity of the creator of the sci-fi podcast that she loves so much.
DNF at around 60%.
There is only one reason why I have avoided this book for so long: I knew that I wasn't going to like it. See, this is why I don't want to read books that were loved by most people. There's just this tendency that I would not like it.
Many reviewers stated how this was so relatable. But for me, it's not THAT relatable. The problems are relatable but not the main feelings in itself... no. However, if there's one word that I can use for the characters, it would be: undercooked. They seemed dull to me.
Gracious, I wanted to love this book. I really did.
But when the mystery around Radio Silence was revealed, there wasn't much that was driving me forward into reading further. There's nothing else exciting and engaging. I loved all the representations though.
