I loved the vibes of this book immediately - so gothic, spooky, and eerie. It was done perfectly. And it was so high energy at the same time that it kept me interested the entire time I was reading. There weren't any low parts after I got half way through, it was just off to the races. I love those high energy type books and this was definitely one of them.
I think its only fault was that it was a little predictable but only on the like smaller surprises. Where the storyline was heading was still unpredictable but those things that you could tell were supposed to be big surprises, I was able to predict - one of them I even predicted within the first 15-30 minutes of starting the audiobook. But since they weren't the main plot, they didn't bother me too much.
I loved Lisbeth as a character. The poor girl just wants a normal life. She didn't ask for any of this, not the magic and not to be pulled into this game of finding all of the cards, but here she is, being pulled in only because she might finally get what she wants if they achieve their goals. She's so witty and clever and I love her so much.
I can't wait until my hold on the next one comes in so I can see where the story goes from here.
