How to Eat a Cupcake by Meg Donohue

4.0

Very enjoyable more-serious-than-usual chick lit. Julia and Annie grew up together, with Annie's mother serving as a cook and nanny to Julia's fabulously rich family. As they grew older, they had a terrible rift, the detail of which come out over the course of the book. The story was a little uneven in tone (the deep, dark secret Julia harbors is telegraphed early but not spelled out until later, and the vandalism subplot comes and goes in weird ways), but it was a mostly fun read.
