Malice by Heather Walter

I liked this book a lot more than I anticipated, since you know, it was rather fast paced to be so boring for the majority of it. So here’s the thing- Alyce’s journey of self discovery was, originally, a fun thing to read about. I thought this was gonna be a fun twist on the story, where instead of a dragon, we get two girls who fall in love but lol. Alyce spends soooo much of this book telling everyone that she isn’t evil like they think and then turns around and does the evil things. It’s like Aurora says, she had a choice. She KNEW the king was using her for terrible things and would probably betray her and behold! He was and he did and she was surprised??? Girl what? I will say that her girl boss moment at the end was fun to read- she deserved revenge and she took it.

This was just not what I expected from all the buzz I heard about it, but it wasn’t a bad book and I’ll definitely read on to see how the series ends.
