Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz

1.5

This book felt very underdeveloped in some aspects and overdeveloped in others. It was a shame because the idea behind the characters was something magnificent and had so much potential but it lacked the literary finesse. The language was dull at times and I cringed more than anything else. There were chapters where I thought "Finally!" but that hope was soon extinguished. The ending was rushed and big life moments for Ari and talks with his parents held little emotion. None of the faults come from the characters but rather from the writings of the characters.
