Free food for millionaires, we are introduced to Min Jin Lee’s brilliant episodic writing style which I’ve grown to love alongside her expansive cast of characters and their encounters as they navigate life in America as Korean immigrants. Min Jin Lee expertly tackles a host of topics flitting from generational divide, familial expectations and post-degree crisis set against the vivd backdrop of New York. My only qualm would be the lackluster ending alongside the story feeling pretty winding towards the end and repetitive with some seemingly one dimensional characters.
