Wow. This was an emotionally jarring read. It was poignant and really well written. Ela Lee really leaves it all on the page--all the stages of grief after an attack, the trauma, the flashbacks...definitely read at your own discretion keeping your mental health in mind.
As a woman, although I'm lucky enough to never have been through SA, I couldn't help but relate and empathize with Jade. So many of her feelings are a universal female experience, some of them are BIPOC female experiences and we can understand the rage suppression, poise, and patience we have in those situations.
Really great book, but a difficult read for sure.
