It has been quite a while since I read Preston, or Preston & Child, and I think I am going to get back into it.  While this isn't a GREAT book, and it is very self-aware of its immediate comparisons to Jurassic Park, it was incredibly easy to read and I breezed through it in about 6 hours.  It is a great introduction to Cash and Colcord, and I will be there for the sequel next year.  Extinction is a fun thriller, with some gruesome visuals and decent action.  You can do a lot worse for your Summer reading.
