It took me about 60% in to finally get invested into the plot and characters. I had some misgivings about certain aspects of the plot from either desiring more detail/information and the characters initially had some annoying personality flaws. However, I felt like once the story hit an upward to the climax, some of my issues were definitely resolved and I was eager to see how everything would unfold! Had some predicability but also some surprises! The lower star rating is also a reflection of my personal preference against a love triangle. My favorite parts were definitely the cunningness of Gideon & Rune, the reflection back to Gideon’s past traumatic experience with witches, and the explanation of different types of magic spells!
