One could criticize that the main character is too dramatically written, or one-sided, or too fictional..etc, but the sad reality is, there are actually pretendians out there who will always keep denying instead of learning from their mistakes. Although this is after all a work of fiction, I think the author made this very intentional. I think the cringe factors do a good job of showing some of the microaggressions and straight up aggressions that many BIPOC have to deal with in many fields of creative and academic work.
Graphic: Death, Cultural appropriation, Gaslighting
Moderate: Racial slurs, Racism
Minor: Panic attacks/disorders, Sexual assault, Sexual violence
