The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls

challenging emotional hopeful fast-paced

4.25

This is a quick read for something so emotionally devastating. While Walls writes about her childhood through rose-tinted lenses (until her late teenage years), I spent most of the book boiling over with anger at her parents. Walls doesn't devote as much time to introspection, but the way she describes the practical aspects of her upbringing is powerful enough to carry the book. I felt like I had no choice but to keep reading and go on this wild ride until I knew for sure Walls and her siblings (and her parents, I suppose) were okay--or, at least, close enough to okay.
