Monica McCallan really does a terrific job of diverging from the usual mishaps involved with the fake dating trip in The Love Lie! This book was engaging, hilarious, hot, and genuinely full of heart. Rather than lean into the accidental miscommunications that nearly tear the couple apart, Monica sets Sydney and Reese apart by having them be honest and open from the get go. Their chemistry is crackling and watch these two women fall for each other while doing in with empathy and honesty was genuinely beautiful!
