The Penderwicks at Point Mouette by Jeanne Birdsall

2.0

Too much with the crushes and pairing everyone off. It was bad enough in book two, I didn't think it would continue in book three (esp. without the 13 yo sister, who is "off-screen" so to speak and not present for the bulk of the book). They are only 11 and 12! Eleven and twelve year olds have so much more to them and I'd have preferred to see more mishaps, adventures and discoveries that have nothing to do with romance. Disappointed. Alternately, if the characters were 14-15-16, I'd have been more ok with the plot lines.
