Felix Ever After by Kacen Callender

5.0

I finished Felix Ever After a few weeks ago, and I still haven't forgotten about it. Not only is the cover gorgeous, but the story is truly beautiful. There was a lot of hype around this book, and it is 100% worth every bit. Felix Love attends a prestigious summer arts program at his high school, where he is working toward a scholarship to Brown. When an anonymous classmate posts a huge gallery of photos in the lobby of the school featuring photos of Felix before he transitioned along with his deadname for all the students to see, Felix sets out for revenge. Along the way to finding out who betrayed him, Felix navigates self discovery and self love and grapples with identity that I think any teen (or former teen) can relate to. The book is full of queer characters who are earnest and make mistakes, and feel real enough to touch. Kacen Callender's carefully crafted words flow off the page and into the heart of the reader and make this intricate love story an absolute must read.
