The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence
by Gavin de Becker
Not going to lie, I ended up skipping a few chapters toward the end. This isn't a read-in-one-sitting kind of book and I felt like I could only read small increments at a time. But, I really enjoyed it and am now forcing one of my coworkers to read it. The Gift of Fear is relevant and really enjoyable if you have an interest in criminology. I also really appreciate the fact that Becker dispels the misconception that strangers are more dangerous than people we know, while still recognizing that there are truly dangerous strangers (unknown people who offer help and refuse to take no for an answer).
