Read for Classics book group, this book only made me want to read MOAR OCTAVIA BUTLER. I wish I had read this as a teenager because I think it would have been formative. This is one of those books that I wondered a million times where it was going, and I appreciated it so much by the end. It's eerie how likely this scenario still seems, especially in light of how the post apocalyptic genre has grown since it was published in 1993. I'm watching The Walking Dead right now and this book had so many parallels. I'm not a sequel girlie, but I super want to read the sequel to this one.
