An Accidental Goddess by Linnea Sinclair

Overall an enjoyable read. There was in my opinion more focus on romance than making the Sci-fi work in a convincing manner.

The writing was lacking I would say
- using acronyms for long titles after having mentioned them once, and then using that acronym one or two times. That is lazy writing, and leads to confusion for the reader
- using time as an indicator of how long out ships were from arriving.
I could accept it if there was an instance of people mentioning distance and then simulating calculations to indicate the time but there was not, so I don't accept it
- it seemed like there was a lot of times where a reference was put to something that felt like you should have read but it had not occurred, so I guess bad editing might have been complicit here
- can't remember more right now, but these are a few instances

I have complained before about this in other books.
One of the things that drive plot here are people afraid/reluctant/unwilling to tell the whole truth and show trust. This is just so horribly boring and cliché.

Why can't authors write romance without this being one of the major plot drivers, I simply don’t understand it.
