I love a memoir read by the author. The compelling elevator pitch - Greg discovers he has eternal palsy at age 30, a diagnosis kept hidden from him - turns into so much more. Certainly it's a candid exploration of identity and labels and coming to terms with oneself made manifest in coming out as gay, then later with cerebral palsy. He outlines a life with childhood shenanigans and growth and relationships as an adult while also navigating a disability. But what I loved most was the loving specificity, raucous humor, and tender care with which he described his parents, siblings, and other characters along the way. One sentence about his mom would have me laughing or rolling my eyes, then the next would have my heart swelling. Such a gifted writer, striking the perfect balance of ridiculous and poignant.
