The Atlas Six by Olivie Blake

3.0

Hello yes I devoured this book in three days and it gets a star for each one.
Will I ever rate an Olivie Blake book more than 3 stars? I hope so, because I go in rooting for it every time but there’s always something that doesn’t quite scratch the whole itch, you know what I’m saying?

If you know me you know I love a character-driven story over a plot-driven story which is why I think I go into these books hooked. I really enjoyed reading this book and I was quite surprised as I wasn’t sure I bought into the concept. I’m engaged by the characters and I’m annoyed by the unfinished ending which has me knowing I’m going to pick up the next one. Did I guess how it was going to end? No, which gives it higher marks for me.

I’m still annoyed that at least once every part I have to pick up my phone to define a word, these books make me feel stupid but I think maybe it’s more that the word simply doesn’t fit the sentence as I don’t find myself doing this for anyone else’s books. It takes me out of the book which I just find frustrating. BUT I love the rest of her writing so I’m just going to keep on forgiving. Intrigued to see where this goes, don’t let me down now!!
