The Spy by Sophie Lark
5.0

Best book of the series, hands down. Like, I cannot put into words how fucking much I loved this. I devoured it, like I did the rest of the books, but in comparison to the other ones I didn’t get annoyed at any part of this. It felt well paced, the mystery had me fucking swept up in the story, I cried, I laughed, I got a sense of closure at the end.

There’s one more Kingmakers book left, but that was sort of an addition: originally, this was supposed to be the last one and you can tell. The fact that all our beloved characters get to go on this adventure together is perfect. The multiple epilogues are perfect. I love them all so fucking much, every single one of them. With every book, I adored them more.

The revelation about who the spy is was amazing. I saw it coming, in parts, and also got completely blindsided. It was perfect, too. Honestly, can you tell I’m utterly enamored with this book? I’m so so sad to have finished it, as much as I was racing through. And I’m not ready to say goodbye to this entire world and all the characters in just one more book. Why did you have to suck me in like this, Sophie Lark?! Have mercy on me, I’m so invested.

I don’t think the Savage will top this reading experience so I’ll announce now already that this is my favorite Sophie Lark, my favorite Kingmakers book, my favorite book from the entire universe. I’ve read 12 (!!!) books leading up to it and it did not disappoint. God.

I won’t say any more, nothing about the actual story, because otherwise I would have to spoiler tag this review and I don’t wanna do that but just. Omg. I cried and I laughed, I’m heartbroken und I’m joyful, I’m feeling way too fucking much right now.

I love these families so much
