Dwellers: A Novel: Winner of the Philippine National Book Award by Eliza Victoria

While I was reading this, I kept thinking of UP. The setting, the buildings, the vibe, even some of the slang. So I googled the author and HAHA yes UP grad and yes, set in UPD HAHA.
Anyway, this was a lot less satisfying than I thought it'd be... the premise was really interesting, the writing gripping, but too many ideas were stuffed into too few pages. The mystery - which had me by the throat when the book began - was snuffed way too easily by the sudden backstory and killer reveal. The ending felt rushed and too open ended. Still, I'll be reading some of her other books because her concepts were refreshingly creepy, just the execution on this one didn't really work out.
