Drowning Erin by Elizabeth O'Roark

4.0

I desperately wanted to love this book.
Just because the writing was flawless as usual.
I am in love with Brandon. The story idea was so intriguing and amazing.

I also loved the way it was written. Brandon’s pov for the past and Erin’s for the present. It added perfectly to the right person but never the right time. How always one of them was in love with the other.

But Erin… i loved her in Waking Olivia.
But in this book she slowly got on my nerves. Not because she’s badly written or anything. She’s too realistic. I just can’t stand reading about leads like her. I know that this is a thing that really happens - you loose too much of yourself in a relationship. A toxic relationship where you don’t notice it is. It’s draining you out.
Erin having no damn backbone and being unable to stand up for herself was heartbreaking. But also frustrating. And I therefore couldn’t relate to her at all. It’s probably a realistic portrayal, but one that made me annoyed by her.

But her being realistic and heartbreakingly lost in the word is not something that should reflect negatively on my rating since it’s a me thing and not a badly done thing.

It’s an AMAZING book. The 42 highlights on my kindle probably say enough about that.

So if your in the mood for a heartbreaking journey of a love story… this is the book for you
