I don’t usually reach for YA thrillers, but We Were Warned by Chelsea Ichaso was an entertaining surprise! It’s fast-paced, eerie, and packed with suspense—perfect for a quick, binge-worthy read.
The story follows Regan and a few of her classmates to an abandoned cottage. What’s supposed to be a simple legend investigation quickly turns into a nightmare when they start receiving cryptic warnings. As her classmates start to go missing and paranoia spreads, Regan must figure out if they’re dealing with a ghost story… or something even more sinister.
The atmosphere is tense, the mystery is intriguing, and while some twists were predictable, the execution kept me engaged. If you enjoy YA thrillers with a spooky setting and a sense of urgency, this one is worth checking out!
