A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

Things I did like:
- Tarquin is my favourite lord, of my favourite court, and him going Beast Mode on kids during the battle was awesome as heck
- The start of the novel wherein Feyre is playing Tamlin, was expertly executed bu SJM, and subsequently Fayre
- I think this book didn't struggle for pacing whatsoever, it was thrilling from different aspects from start to finish
- The world getting fleshed out meant that some of the side characters, like the death-gods for some more lore, and the world did in general, which was all enjoyable
- Tamlin's pseudo-redemption arc was really anticipated by myself, and I thought it played out in a satisfying way

Things I didn't like:
- Drakon coming through to save the day was threaded to much throughout the books to really be a shock or reveal
- Rhys' death wasn't really impactful, because it was undone so quickly, the death and the resolution were quick, which would have been passable if we all didn't know the High Lord's would resolve him
- The Hybern King didn't result to much - he's been a big bad for so long, that when he was stabbed with Truth-Teller, his impact as an antagonist felt negligible
