So, here's my recommendation: read this immediately following the first book. I remembered really enjoying he first one and caring a lot about Grace, but by the time this one came out, I only vaguely remembered the story and spent most of this book wondering why I liked Grace in the first book. Around the 60% mark, this one started getting really good and through the remainder, I remembered why I had so enjoyed the first one. Read them together!
