The only thing I can say about this book is that I felt deceived all the time about it. It was supposed to be the best horror book of all time (or so I had been told), and I personally found more enjoyable the Netflix series than the book. I guess it's that I need an explanation on creepy events and and why the house is haunted and by what. I guess this book is not for me.
