As Old as Time by Liz Braswell
2.25

Well, if you ignore the fact that the whole plot of the book takes place in basically 4 days, it’s still an extremely mid book.
Belle and the Beast have basically no character development whatsoever, no specific moments where the reader can truly see their relationship shift and turn in to love because everything is RUSHED.
The amount of jumping between timelines and then between different stories gives you a lot of information, but that information is never given enough time and space to be properly explored because you’re rushed into a new random plot point, that looking back was not that relevant at all.
The whole magic plot though an interesting idea was all too convenient with Belle seeing the visions all the time and basically figuring everything out with her mother’s help.
And then they don’t break the curse in the end? I mean the workers get turned back into humans, but the Beast doesn’t. By the way, the literal main character the Beast is never given a proper name, wtf. Even though the curse is lifted the kingdom is still forgotten? Okay, whatever, none of this makes sense.
Beauty and the Beast is one of the greatest fairytales, and this book just did not do it justice.
