Twisted Together by Pepper Winters

4.0

description

I loved this series! It was dark, twisted, sexy, unconventional, uncomfortable, excruciatingly painful, and beautiful. Twisted Together was the perfect bookend to the Monsters in the Dark trilogy, bringing balance and closure to the gut-wrenching tale of Tess and Q.

I had to read this one in pieces. The opening third of this one was INTENSE. This book picked up where Quintessentially left off, with Tess battered and battling to hold on to her present, clinging to the hope of a future, but still tempted to lock herself away, in order to avoid facing her past. As Q battled to bring Tess back from the brink, I held my breath, terrified that the damage done to this beautiful couple was irreparable. There were times when I needed to stop reading, in order to catch my breath. Ms. Winters had me by the throat as she put these two through what can only be described as some crazy s***. The book picked up about midway, it wrenched me along a crazy adventure, one filled with blood, violence, and darkness. I f***ing LOVED it!!!! I loved the transformation that these two characters made. From Tears of Tess, when I first met two lost, lonely, cold, miserable, empty beings, to Twisted Together, when Tess and Q merged and became one. There coming together was an alchemy, a metamorphosis of the soul.

Like Q branded Tess, I can say that after experiencing this series, Pepper Winters has left a searing mark on me, one that won't quickly fade. Don't be afraid to read this series. It's not your typical love story, but that's what makes it oh so good!
