If We Were Villains centers around a cast of seven - Richard Stirling, the golden boy, the best actor of them all, slightly sinister; Alexander Vass, a perpetual stoner, bluntly honest, constantly cast as a villain; Meredith Dardenne, magnetic, sly, passionate; Oliver Marks, the narrator, always an extra in the others' story, filled with strong morals; James Farrow, fiercely loyal, Oliver's closest friend, brimming with talent; Wren Stirling, charming, emotionally fragile, Richard's cousin; and Filippa Kosta, an enigma, a constant third wheel, a great confidante. They have attended Dellecher Conservatory for the past three years and are close as anything.
However, the fourth year at Dellecher, the group is wrought by internal conflict, leading to anger and violence amongst them. What ensues will shatter them all in a multitude of ways.
