A good middle school or low-level high school boy book, I think. Lots of action, lots of thrilling moments. There are some nice subtle themes explored about learning/following tradition and cultural heritage with Gabe's roommate Raymond's story line, a Dene native who gets his "bush education" while out in the wilderness.
