Uhhmmmm... wtf did I just read?

Rating: ★★★★

Due to its repeated appearance in Alexandra Roselyn's channel, I finally decided to give this a try. All I know about this book is that there is a bunch of girls calling each other "Bunny" and something about a cult. Little did I know I was up for something that I did not truly expect at all.

The things that I like

The narrative. Sweet ghad, how do I even begin? This has to be the best written first POV book I've read. I loved being inside Samantha's head. I felt like I was going crazy with her. It's truly immersive and the descriptions... I fell completely head over heels with it.

The mystery. The "bunnies" are sickening. But in the worst way possible. I felt suffocated with their presence just by the way Samantha was describing them. And yet at the same time, you could not help but wonder what was it that's going on between that set of friends? What's their biggest secret? And yes, it will EAT YOU UP until you find out what it is.

THE ENDING. I mean... WHAT?! Are you fcking kidding me? That was one hell of a twist and I did not see coming. I knew there was something unnatural going on, but I didn't think that it would reach that point. And now it all makes sense. AND DAMN, I loved getting surprised.

The things that I DID NOT like

The answer to the mystery. This is more of a NEUTRAL point for me. I did not think that we're going out of bounds with the ordinary, but we did step into that world. I just think that I would prefer for the mystery to stay within the possible. I think that would be more horrifying. Still, I did like the originality of the thought.

The book did not really go into much detail and I loved that even after finishing it, there's no clear answer of how it all started. You don't even know how the bunnies even got together in the first place. It's good that this book did not overdo things and kept some of its secrets to itself.

The pace got slow. Another reason why this book is not a five star is that the pacing got slower about a little past half of the book. The first part of the book felt like I was going to have a heart attack any moment because of the constant excitement that it provides.

My blood pressure went normal and the bunnies disappeared for a few chapters--I kind of missed them and one part of me wished that the mysteries stayed with them. I know. I'm obsessed.

In sum:

Will I recommend this book? Definitely! It has been a wild ride. If you're looking for something that could possibly shock you, or if you're a lover of plot twists, then I suggest that you read this next.

We never know, you might get obsessed with the bunnies too.

See you there, bunny.
