The Beast in the Cave by H.P. Lovecraft

3.0

The atmosphere was written very well. The writing itself was very good, especially knowing he was 14 when Lovecraft wrote this. Everything was tightly written and overall I don’t really have any complaints. This was my first experience with Lovecraft’s writing, so I was unsure what to expect. The story is about a foreboding sense of a man who wanders away from his tour group in a cave, gets lost in the tunnels with no light. However, it wasn’t really that great or enjoyable for me. I just didn’t care really. While the writing was good, it didn’t make me care about ole dude.
