I went into this book completely blind.
It's crazy, I know, but I'd never even watched the movie and I didn't really know anything about it aside from the blurb. The beginning of this book was so slow, it really was a bit boring. I liked the characters, and there was some great character development throughout the book. The writing was, as always, very very good. And of course it was scary (especially the hedges)! I still prefer "realistic" horror over supernatural stuff, but that's very subjective. I was also a bit disappointed with the ending.
