The Help by Kathryn Stockett

5.0

I read this book in a day, I wanted to read it before I saw the movie. To say I enjoyed it would be putting it mildly. The characters in this book get under your skin. They enable you to feel their frustration. Some parts of the book I laughed out loud and some parts of the book were so frustrating that I had to put the book down. But thats what this kind of book is supposed to do. Its supposed to make you feel frustrated and ashamed for some of the characters in the book like Hilly. Skeeter is amazing and she makes you feel so proud and you are really able to feel like you are in her shoes. Everything Minny said made me laugh. But to see her life and how tough she has to be because of the things going on it was heartbreaking. Aibileen was fantastic. Seeing her keep her calm after everything inside her she wants to say is fighting to get out is powerful. This book is wonderful. There shouldn't be a doubt at all to read it.
