The Murder of Roger Ackroyd by Agatha Christie

2.0

Apparently I just had my expectations too high after reading so many reviews stating this was the best mystery novel ever written. I wanted to love this, I really did. Maybe in its day this was really a shocking twist ending, but I was able to guess the who-dun-it early on. This was my 1st Agatha Christie, the grand dame of mystery novels, and I feel let down. I still intend to read Murder on the Orient Express, with hopes I will love it, due to it is almost required reading for all mystery lovers. I do give the BBC audiobook a 5 star rating for its sound effects in the audiobook, it sounded just like listening to a movie, with a large cast of narrators and background sound effects, such as doors closing and birds singing.
