Wilde in Love by Eloisa James

2.0

I’ve never been a romance novel reader, and the Wilde series is my first (they were bought for me as a gag gift). I ended up hooked on the characters with the first one I read. I’m pretty repulsed by the cheesy, graphic love scenes and I’m not a fan of the transparent plots of the series.

The plot of this novel is by far the most cheesy and obvious of the three.

However, for a romance novel, I think the author deserves some credit. She’s a literature professor who is married to an actual Italian knight. As far as I assume romance novels go, the writing is done well. Her historical research is accurate. So, for a romance novel, a great deal of thought seems to go into each novel in the Wilde series.
