I had no idea what to expect, even though I had heard about the book. I was pleasantly surprised by how funny it was and how the author, Beagin, could take very serious situations and topics and still have me laughing out loud at the environment, the characters, or the pretty detailed descriptions of sexual encounters.
This is a story that combines character and plot development, which aren’t the strongest, but they mesh well for me. The ending was also a bit different from the characters, which made it oddly fitting. Overall, it was a solid read and would be a good choice for book clubs who enjoy books that are a bit off the norm and feature quirky characters.
