Undoctored: The Story of a Medic Who Ran Out of Patients by Adam Kay

dark funny fast-paced

3.75

I didn't love the first half so much, but preferred the second one. It's both deeply personal and very funny (not necessarily both at the same timeā€¦). Kay talks about his eating disorder, being sexually assaulted and losing his own baby during his wife pregnancy and still having to work on the labour ward. At first I didn't like the way he talked about his partner but it became obvious that he was exaggerating things for the purpose of humour. This book still has interesting reflections on the life of student doctors and the NHS that make me even more grateful for the service and care I receive as a user of the NHS.
