Dark Apprentice by Kevin J. Anderson

2.0

There's a section of this book where Leia crash lands on a planet, pissing off the locals and putting herself in danger. Han, her husband, is terrified for her safety and rushes to his ship to speed off and rescue her. While rushing, he sees his best friend Lando, who challenges him to a game of Sabacc (poker) for the ownership of Han's spaceship. Immediately forgetting his injured wife, Han accepts, loses his ship, and proceeds to sulk. They play 4(?) more games of Sabacc over the course of the book. It's painful to read, but there's also a kind of enjoyment to be derived from how stupid and ridiculous it is.
