This is a fantastic book of an enchanted island (where the wind carries messages to others and the landscape is constantly changed by the island spirits!). A young man, bard, and aspiring professor is summoned back to this island that he grew up in in order to help solve the mystery of a bunch of recently-kidnapped girls.
There was so much mystery that had me always guessing! There were so many heartfelt moments and reveals that made me cry more than I expected to! There's also a slow-burn romance. I wouldn't say that this is romantasy, because the fantasy was more prominent than the romance part, so fantasy romance would probably be the sub-genre.
