*happy sigh*
I need to let it sit for a bit, but this is basically Emma retelling and it's kind of perfect? I have been looking for a perfect sapphic historical (one of the protagonists in NB) forever now and this is my favourite so far, I think. But then seeing a butch* in a historical attire is always going to make my heart weak.
*Not sure if that is a term George would use to describe themselves... but George is very clearly inspired by Anne Lister type of character (minus the conservative politics).
Later: Yeah, I'm not sure there is anything I want to add really. This was really nice. The art style wasn't entirely to my preference, but it was very pretty. The rep was great, I loved how it explored the themes of Emma and turned some of them on their head. If you do enjoy a sweet historical sapphic romance with a bit of angst and a bit of social commentary, I would definitely recommend this to your attention.
