Born of Betrayal by Sherrilyn Kenyon

3.0

I was really looking forward to this book. I love this series and SK. I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with it though. There were a few inconsistencies I noticed that didn't make much sense. One spoiler free example, in the beginning of the book Galene basically says Talyn can do better than Felica, yet later in the book she just loves her so much. There were a few things like this that bugged me.
A few other things I didn't like:

The backstory for Fain leaving Galene was pretty weak in my opinion. I was hoping for a lot more depth here.
There were so many characters in this story, it was hard to keep track.
3 times we were lead to believe someone had died, but nope, they didn't. It was ok the first time, the second and third, not so much.
Trying to make Julian out to be a good guy now?? I don't really know about all that.
Overall this book felt rushed, weak, and confusing to me. I will of course read the next one, but I have faith it will be better.
